Trabzonspor have never qualified for the UEFA Champions League but their female side are hoping to outdo their male counterparts when they become the first women's side to represent Turkey in European club competition.

Having finishing five points clear at the top of the Turkish league last season, Trabzonspor take on hosts ŽNK Krka, Italy's ASD Torres Calcio and Slovakian side FK Slovan Duslo aľa in UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying round Group D in Slovenia from Thursday. Hakan Yılmaz, formerly assistant coach of the men's side, has been in charge of the women's side for two years and works in tandem with Hamit Cihan.
